I use coconut milk before I co wash or shampoo. I use it kinda like a pre-poo treatment. I wash my hair with it and make sure to get it on my scalp, rinse, co wash, condition, then do another rinse w/ the coconut milk just to make sure I get all the natural oils in there. My hair comes out very soft, shiny and moisturized. I add a little honey to it most of the time for extra moisture.

Poka, I'm just curious...I notice a number of ladies do pre-shampoo treatments...what's the purpose and benefit of this? Maybe I am overthinking it, but doesnt it get washed away by the shampoo?

Well, for me it really helps with detangling and putting moisture in the hair. If you pre-poo with a conditioner and put a hot towel on it works wonders. It also penetrates into the hair shaft better this way. It does seem as if the shampoo would wash it away but some ladies do it so their shampoo's won't be so stripping.

Do you use coconut oil or coconut milk on your hair and how do you use it and when in your regime? What difference has it made for you?
I use Coconut Milk as a deep conditioning treatment, once every other month, it makes my hair incredibly soft and moisturized. I use Coconut Oil on my scalp once or twice a week to prevent dryness, I also use it as a hot oil treatment every other week.
