Hi
I lose alot of strands a hair a day..like this morning for example I was washing my hair,I didn't wash it in 2 days and when I was done I literally had to wash all the hair off of my hands because I lost so much hair..it seems like I lose more hair when I don't wash my hair for a day then when I do..why's that? I hate to brush or comb my hair cause I lose so many strands..I never recall me losing this much hair like a year or two ago why is it happenieng now..is this a sign of possible future hair loss that I'm starting to get?? My hiar is the longest now that Ive ever had it..its parted in middle and comes to bout top of my ears Im trying to get it to grow to about my chin or so..but that'll take awhile cuz I have alot of pieces that are shorter then the longer pieces..and Im trying to grow my undercut out..it's just a mess..I dont know what to do.
Also I have fine hair i guess I was wondering do people with fine hair eventaully lose it casue it's not thick?
Ive heard it's normal to lose 100-200 strands a day..well if you keep losing it then it has to be a sign of future hair loss..am i right? Cause you're losing hair..and it never feels that it's growing back.
Does anyopne know the old show Renegade starring Lorenzo Lamas its a few yrs old..Im tryin to grow my hair like his..is his thick? How did he get it like that? I saw old pics of him before he had long hair and his hair looked really stupid..how'd he get it to look so good?
Also I dont eat well but I take 2 b-complex pills a day, also I take GNC Ultra Mega Multivitamin once a day..will these improve my hair and help possible shedding?
Shannon

Hi Superstar,

I'll assume you're male since you stated you were going for Lorenzo Lamas' hair look.:)

The best advice I can confidently offer you is to see a dermatologist. They can help you to identify what is going on with your hair, if there is a problem or not. I know that people can see more hair shedding when they shampoo the longer they have gone between the last shampoo. So you may not have a problem, that's just hair that would have normally shedded off if you're shampooing had been more often. The amount you see may just be because you're saw this happen and are paying attention more. Maybe you have always been shedding this amount. To reassure you, every person in the world sheds hair and then the hairs are replaced by new hairs. If you are genetically proned to male pattern baldness (usually the way to tell is if your Mother's Father-your maternal Grandfather-had male pattern baldness)then MAYBE (and I stress MAYBE)you are following suit. I don't know if your Father having male pattern baldness is another way to tell, or your Paternal Grandfather, however if they did I would ask a dermatologist if that affects you genetically.
There are sicknesses that can cause temporary thinness and vitamin deficiencies and protein deficiencies can cause this, too. Another cause can be constsantly wearing tight ponytails and other tight hairstyles. There are even people who constantly pull out their own hair. I don't know if by stopping this they will re-grow their hair-I think they do but there may be some who don't-I just don't know.

I would just go to a respected dermatologist and tell him what you said here and tell him about any family history and see what he has to say. Hope this has helped you.

Just thought I would quickly comment about your other post "Is It Bad To Do This" that if you have been using this styling tool and at the same time have had these problems with excess hair shedding they could be related.
See if the shedding calms down after stopping the use of the styling brush.

If you still go to the dermatologist, tell him about the way you have been styling your hair with this straightening brush.

Hello there,
It is normal for you to loose anywhere from 100-150 hairs per day it could be more or less depending on if your hair is thick or fine. If you shampoo your hair every 2 days it is true that it would look like your loose more hair than if you shampooed everyday. All it is, is your also shedding the hair from the previous day.
