QuoteReplyTopic: Growing out Bangs Posted: December 02 2002 at 5:02am
This is to those people (Vickie and her daughter and anyone else) who want to grow out their bangs. It is a LONG LONG process. I have been growing mine out for a while. I am 22 now, and I figured that I needed to stop looking so "highschoolish" so I started to grow them. This is probably my 4th or 5th attempt to actually grow them out, they get so long, then I decide to cut them again. I go through the "still can curl them stage," then i go through the (I think 70s or 80s) area where both sides flare out, and I can`t do anything with them. Now they are about to my lips, (after my last trim a little was taken off) and they are still in the way, but I can almost tuck them behind my ears. It rains daily and the sun is out daily..so I just take my sunglasses with me, and they do a good job of holding them back. What is nice for me is that they are much lighter than the rest of my hair, and that is just from the sun hitting them. I haven`t put any type of coloring/perming chemicals in my hair in over 2 years now! This is the 2nd time I have let them grow this long, and I`m NOT giving up on them, nor am I cutting them. So for those who are trying, the best of luck to you. Please don`t get frustrated and cut them!

Thanks! They are almost to my chin, and I really like them right now. I can use my air brush and add a big of a curl to them, and it kinda frames my face a little. And, they stay behind my ears now, so I can get them outta my face if I want to. Good luck on your growing!!!
