QuoteReplyTopic: Growing out a short cut Posted: August 29 2000 at 10:10pm
I need advice on the best (i.e. fastest) way to grow out my short layered cut. I recently cut my bobbed hair short, and it was great for couple of months - now I hate it. It is currently cut in your basic layered, tucked behind the ears style with a little length in back, with bangs. I want to grow out the whole thing, inlcuding bangs, to a one length or lightly layered style. Everytime I've tried to do this before I get frustrated with trying to get it to look decent during the growing out phase, especially the bangs.
Any tips on how to style bangs while they are growing out? And should I keep trimming - if so, how often, and all over or just the bottom? Thanks - please answer, I need help! P.S. My hair is fine, but I have quite a bit of it, and is slightly wavy, if that makes a difference.

Well there really isn't a fastest way to grow your hair. The growth rate is mainly determined by genetics. Some peoples hair grow faster some slower. Anyway, I have found that eating a fair amount of protein and brushing your hair or otherwise messaging your scalp can help. My hair is cut in a bob below my ears with bangs and some longer layers. I love it. I am thinking about letting it grow a little longer. What style are you going for? I would suggest trims to get rid of any dry or split ends. Probably trim about every six weeks. If you are trying to get rid of the layers and going to all at one length you should still have the ends trimmed. Let me know what you are going for.
