In the UK, the last time I saw people with bright red hair was circa 1977, and they were all punk rockers (and I was one of them).

Now, all of a sudden, it's back. Young girls, old girls, ladies of a certain age, even city gents are in on it - make no mistake, short or long, bright red hair is here! Sometimes it looks OK, usually not very appropriate, occasionally downright awful.

Is this a worldwide trend I wonder, and if so what does this say about us?

Well I got news for you. We are also red here in this part of Canada.
IN fact I love it. I was seriously thinking of dyeing my hair red when I end up with to many white hair but I am bit discourage. According to some girls the red hair really dye clothes when it is wet. It guess it bleeds for a long time.
