Hi Ladies! I hope you are all doing great! I need to consult something with you guys. I am growing out my short hair, but I need to give my hair (and scalp) a break. I am under a medication that has made my hair so dry and ugly, I have been cutting it in a very short bob and relaxing it to make it look good, but I had desided to grow out all the chemical relaxed hair, and let my natural hair grow and treat it.
I have desided to wear a wig, and I want to wear it behind the hairline so it would look natural. I travel a lot and have go on the run most of the time, I am looking for a method to wear this wig for 3-4 days, then take it off and take care of my hair.
Do you guys think that if I put my hair in a wig cap (letting front her out to make it look natural) and then using Pro Tac around the head (between hair and cap) this will be a good method for what I am trying to achieve? Is there any other adhesive to achieve this?
I am so desperate girls, I have wear my hair short for so long! and then Extensions, then short again, when finally I had my hair healthy and a good lenght I had to battle thyroid cancer, and there goes short again. I can't wear extensions for a while because my scalp has turn so sensitive.
I need to use wigs from now on until the healthy me comes back to live again.
Actually I would suggest you look into a lace front wig.. You could put all your hair away with no stress. Lace Front wigs give you a completely natural looking hairline and can be styled JUST like your hair.. If you are not familiar with these and want a QUICK introduction to 'em and what they look like check this out:
Then head over to the lace front wig section here and on the Black Hair Media forum. I would spend some time doing some reading of the past posts to get yourself completely familiar with these kinds of wigs..

Thank You DivaVocals! I had consider Lace Front Wigs, but as I was reading in the Black hair media forum....Do I need to shave some of my hairline??
Some of the girls there do, some of them don't.. can I use a lace front wig withouth shaving my hairline?
Yes you can.. Just like the lady in the video.. You do not have to shave the hairline.. Once you settle on a vendor they should work with you on the wig specs.. I would STRONGLY suggest you check out Beautiful Secrets (he's on BHM) because he does BEAUTIFUL work, and he is here in the United States.. This way you can work with him personally to get your specifications right..
Many of the girls who shave their hairlines have alopecia, and for them a LF is a way to restore thier crowning glory in a natural looking way.. Some have compromised natural hairlines due to alopecia.. In the scheme of things it makes sense.. When you have alopecia, shaving the hairline to wear a wig is no big deal. Since some of these ladies very little to no hair due to the alopecia, they can shave their natural hairlines and create a whole new hairline with the LF..

Hi DivaVocals! I went wig shopping today, and purchased 2 amazing Mono-Top wigs. After a talk with my husband we agree a lacefront wont be possible for now. But I do like the idea of changing my hairstyle with my 2 wigs. Plus they look amazing!!!
Now, what would you sugest I can use to secure my wig..I will be geting pretty creative here. LOL
A nice guy that was also prchasing wigs for a show (where he dress as a woman) sugested I can use Spirit Gum to attach the wig securely.
Do you thing a milder version of Toupe tape will do the trick?
I want to be able to go dancing without worring that the wig will fall or slip. Or having dinner with hubby and the wig falling...Can you give me some tips? Thanks!

A mono-top is an EXCELLENT alternative to a lacefront.. You still
get a realistic looking scalp and some styling versatility.. Your BEST place for info on securing your new wigs is the LaceFront topic on BHM.. Those ladies have all kinds of tricks to have you looking good..

I cut some bangs so it would blend more.I can't belive how real it looks.
I sew in some toupee clips, and they are not that confy. I am in search of a better alternative. I will be trying "IT Stays Adhesive".
*********Sorry, Picture Removed*******
Is there a milder tape that I can attach to the hair and wig, and then remmove with a remover? I hate the fact that the clips pull on my hair, and since I like to go out dancing, I really need something secure.
Oh! I forgot, I always leave a little hahir out in my front and sides (and back) to cover the wig edges and make it look more natural.
I will be posting more pics soon with the other wigs I got at the wig store. But so far, this one is my favorite (and paid 50% less than in the store)

I dont have any advice as far as attachment products. Other than to suggest the wigs or lacefront forum on BHM. Those ladies are genius over there when it comes to wigs! But I just want to comment on how AMAZING the wig looks. And completely natural! Beauuuutiful!!
I have been searching and reading all posts at the BHM ( I LOVE that forum). But so far have found no solution for my situation. All I find is info in LaceFronts.
I was thinking of getting a mild toupee tape and put small pieces on the side and back to secure the wig, then remove with an adhesive remover. But I will need to research more about this, since I will be attaching it to hair, not directly in my scalp. I will keep you updated. I will try with "IT STAYS" adhesive, I was told you remove it just with water (but doesn't sound that secure to me). I will experiment.

Your wig looks AMAZING!!!
Try putting a post on the LaceFront wig section on BHM.. Even though you are not wearing a lacefront, I will still BET that the ladies there can help you out with a better method to secure the wig.. There are quite a few ladies who have to secure the lacefronts to their own natural hair so I'm sure they can point you in the right direction..
