QuoteReplyTopic: Freemans & Help For Oily Hair Posted: December 04 2000 at 3:22pm
I like the shampoos by Freemans. However I have really oily hair and none of them seem to really help my oil problem. I have very long hair and my ends stay dry but the roots get really oily. UGH. Any suggestions on products for oily hair.

Clarifying shampoos are often good at cutting oil. What I have always gotten good feedback on is using a combo of shampoos. What you can do is use a good clarifying shampoo at JUST the roots to cut the oil and then use a milder shampoo on the middle to ends of your hair.
I agree that ARTec is good although the Smoothing would not work well for containing oiliness. The ARTec Volume or the Kiwi is good for oiliness though since they tend to dry the hair.
I also like Edwin Paul Classic which Jeff Hines from HairBoutique.com just loves. He tends to have oily scalp and dry middle to ends and so he loves the Classic shampoo on the roots and then he lets the suds wash down over the middle and ends. He finishes with Edwin Paul Deep Conditioner and his hair always looks just great.
I personally am not wild about Freemans but I have heard that White Rain is good for a drugstore option. I also like Suave as a drugstore brand.
Best wishes, Karen
