I had not colored my hair for almost a year. I went to the hairdresser to get a color job to make my shoulder length hair which was medium brown to my ears and the rest grown out blondish. He talked me into getting hightlights. What he told me to expept was far from the way it turned out. In the front its very bright yellow, brown stripes, underneath its almost bleached white. He didnt even get to my roots at the top of the yellow highlights its looks like its burnt like a red. What am I going to do.My hair is damaged enough already.Should I go back and get him to attempt to fix it or am I stuck with this hideous hair for years untill it grows out. Please help! thankyou.

Hi Jaimie,

I am so sorry to hear of your hair color problems.

I would strongly recommend that you call the stylist immediately and tell him that you are unhappy with the outcome of his last work and that you want him to fix it for you.

Heavens, waiting for it to grow out would be unfair to you. Everyone deserves to have hair that they like and enjoy.

If the stylist is unwilling to work to change the outcome then ask to speak to the manager/owner of the salon and tell them you want to get your hair where you want it to be.

If your hair is damaged they can also do special conditioning treatments to get you through any necessary adjustments of the color.

Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Best wishes,
Karen Shelton

Thanks for the reply.I phoned the hairdresser first thing in the morning and said I needed it fixed a.s.a.p. The picture that I showed him was very far from the way it turned out it wasnt the greastest picture but you could tell that i wanted a more natural look. He used foil for them. There is blothes inthe back, the top part of the streks like I said look like there burned, therees even some green in there too. Do you think I should just put a med brown. Will it cover all the crazy colors and blend in with the rest. Im kinda sketched out about going back. Should I expect to have it done completly without cost? If you get this in the next 8 hours please answer back. thanks a billion.

I don`t know if I would go back to that stylist or not. Sounds like he didn`t know what he was doing. I have been the victim of many a hair mess-up and I have learned through bitter experience that if the stylist really messed me up the first time, going back just made it worse. I think your best bet would be to find someone who specializes in color correction. Ask around. You will undoubtedly find people with great looking color who can give you recommendations. If you do opt to go back to the same stylist he should NOT charge you anything else. Good luck.
