Easy hairstyle

I have a very young child so I do not have much time to work on my hair. I'm looking for a hairstyle that is easy to style and manage, but also looks good and flattering. I have long, brunette hair that is slightly wavy and thick. I have an oval face. I'm thinking of getting a loose perm and layering my hair all over with long bangs. That way I can wash it and then put in some product and go. Also, if anyone knows of a good hair product out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Thanks!
