Ok, I have a prob here.
I`ll wash my hair and let it air dry, the outter part of my hair will look clean and shiny, and the underneath is all greasy. Any tips on how to prevent this?? Any different way of washing or drying?!

how do you wash your hair? head bent over under a faucet or from the top down in the shower?

what is the water temperature and what is your hair type?

first thing that pops into mind is your underside isn`t getting completely cleaned or rinsed. either that or your method of washing and product may be too harsh and your scalp is over producing oils.

just a guess until we get more information.

I wash my hair in the shower. I need my water hott when i wash my hair... My hair type is pretty normal i think. :-\ and i always flip my hair over so the underside gets washed and everything. And what i`ve noticed is that its always like this, even when i go to get a haircut and they wash my hair.

Washing with hot water causes the scalp to over compensate for the stripping of natural oils. This in turn causes more oils to be released.

Try using a gentle shampoo for oily hair and use lukewarm water. This may take a while to notice improvement because your scalp needs to get itself readjusted to the fact that the water isn`t so hot the scalp isn`t being dried out anymore.

Think of it this way, people who have oily skin have to use gentle cleansers and light moisturizers when caring for their skin. If the skin is overdried by harsh cleansers or hot water, then the skin starts over producing oils and ends up causing more problems. The same can be said for the scalp.

I still take hot showers, but I wash my hair first and get it up out of the way then crank up the hot water. :)

hope that helps...
