I use head and shoulders most of the time (which people have said is not good, but I really don't know what else to use.) but every once in awhile I use a clarifying shampoo. When I do and then blow dry my hair using a brush it is so soft and pretty. How can i make my hair soft and pretty all the time without long time consuming messy routienes that cost a bundle? I know I ask alot of questions about the same things but I do learn new things from each post. Could I be doing something that hurts my hair? I use "ouchless" ponytail holders without the trecherous metal piece and when I am at home a clip to hold it up. I also brush my hair after I wash it under the water since it is like a natural detangler.

Hi PG,

If a product or routine gives results you like, why not stick with it?  I say change it only if you don't like it.

One thing that helps my hair be soft is using a diluted vinegar (final) rinse after the shampoo and conditioner.  Where I live, the water is hard, so this rinse is very helpful (makes the hair and scalp happy).

Do you use regular vinegar or any knd of vinegar. I hink the only vinegar we have right now is malt vinegar! LOL! Don't think that would work.

what helps my hair soft and is very easy and cheap would be the use of jojoba oil when i get out the shower i rub a little in, or sometimes i condition with it , and forget the drying let it air dry see if it still comes out soft after the use of oil and yes blow dryers can damage hair.

I often associate "soft and pretty" with my hair on the third day after a wash. Somehow the hair stops being frizzy because the moisture by then has left completely. Maybe observe the way your hair changes with each day. You might find that there's a perfect number of days to wait, in order to get the "optimized" hair.
