QuoteReplyTopic: My Hair has grown sooo much! Posted: January 26 2003 at 8:07am
I`ve been patiently growing out my hair for about a year and a half now. When I started growing it out again, it was just a little past my shoulders. I used to brush it out, and then put my head back as far as it would go, and dream about my hair being that long. Well, it now reaches my natural waist, and touches my tattoo on my lower back. That was a "stepping stone" for me to achieve, for it to reach there, and it finally has! Im just so happy. My bangs are still growing, but I like how they are, I can mess with them around my face, and they stay back if I need them to be.
For all of you peoples that want long hair..don`t give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It`ll happen!
It is so wonderful to hear such stories of girls so happy that their hair has grown to the long lengths they are desiring. Keep it up girls and if you ever want to chat online to someone about your hair, please let me know and I would love to offer you all the support I possibly can.
Best wishes,
John

Congrats to all of you! Kintaro- good luck reaching your goal. I think that long hair can look great on a guy...don't let any employer make you cut it. I think that the assumption that men need to have short, neat hair to be 'acceptable' is ludicrous and unfair. Don't let 'em do it to ya! :)
Love, Inga

Hi! How did you get your hair to grow so fast? I had my hair down to my waist and my hairdresser talked me into cutting "all the dead ends off" and she took 3 INCHES!!! Biggest mistake ever--I can't believe I let her do that. My hair is now in the middle of my back and I have tried everything to get it to grow back to where it was--it's been 1 yr now and it hasn't grown. Please let me know what you did. Thanks so much!

A lot of the "dusting" crap I hear about is usually never beneficial, and if done every month, it becomes high maintenance, you're cutting your length as it grows.
My ends might look a bit like crap , but I learn to live with it. I look in no way like a fashion model, I'm just happy with who I am and what I've accomplished. Which isn't much.
And I can't directly post the pic of myself when the hair is loose, since I'm giving the finger in that pic. :P
10 bucks for S&C a month, when haircuts cost 15+ , you save 5 a month.

To get mine to grow, I get it trimmed every 3-4 months, just an inch at the most. When the ends get really tangled all the time, is my sign that it needs it. My hair still grows quite a bit, even though it is trimmed. I use hot oil treatments sometimes, and just try not to use lots of heat on it. GL in ur growing!
Your hair seems to have grown a lot in a yr an 1/2, Laine, esp. considering you've had an inch cut off every 3-4 mo. I guess some people have surprisingly quick growth.
You sound like my kind of guy Kintaro. That's a kewl picture - is that you? keep it growing and the narrowminded employers can take their jobs.

duke : the avatar is of a character called "Iwaki Seiji" (reverse name, remember, those asian names are like this) from the anime&manga Initial D. A fun car racing saga.
And I don't look "a lot" like him. Since my hair color is brown crap, the length when tied up would be similar though.
The real me : WARNING. I am giving the finger in this picture. Please do not feel offended, as this is the ONLY picture of me online.

Congrats on achieving the length you want! Like you, I want to grow my hair long to waist length. Right now it's a bit past my shoulders (not counting the shorter front layers which are above shoulders). I had it cut short last Jan. Now, my hair is around my shoulders and I look forward to grow my hair long again.
About people getting baffled on quick hair growth, some people grow hair faster than others. It's true about following good haircare practice. It does help.
For example, in summer 1999, on an impulse, I decided to go for a chin length reverse bob. Then by spring 2000 my hair was already past bra strap length.
Last year I had waist length hair and I cut it off due to dyeing damage. My friends commented that my hair grew really fast (like if I didn't see them for few weeks).
