okay sorry if i'm bothering anyone. i've posted this in the short hair board but got no replies and i have two major events coming up in which i need my hair to look it's best.

i want it to look like (or similar) to christina's hair here:

i read something on how i'm suppose to do pin curls or something? http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip180019.htm (it's kind of far down on the page) but i don't exactly understand how to do them since i've never did them before. is it sort of like using those soft hair curlers that you snap together but insted you sort of roll hair and pin it? ..ahh i'm so confused.

yes pin curls were popular in the 40s and 50s christina has been taken upon that look a lot.

Wash hair and allow to dry to about 90 percent.

Decide on where you want the majority of curl. For a really curly look, you can create curls all over the head, or choose sections that frame the face.

Choose small sections of hair that can easily be wound around the finger. You wrap the hair around your finger first, and then slide the hair off your finger onto your head and secure with a bobbypin or clip.

Secure curl by criss-crossing two bobby pins across each curl.

If hair dries before you have completed all the pin curls, mist with water as required.

When curls are completely dry, gently remove the pins and either loosen the curl with the fingers or for a look straight out of the forties, use a comb which will result in a froth of waves.

if you dont have a lot of curl to ur hair u can curling iron it and then pin it.

thanks,
only one question.

i printed out a paper on detailed steps on how to do pin curls (after i posted this) but it said not to use bobbypins because it will leave a crease in my hair.
what else would i use?

You're suppose to use the double prong clips http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/2230/292503
