i believe that when you register a name, it means no one else can register with that name. but i dont think it works like that if they arent a member....meaning if you arent a member i think you can post under any name, whether its registered or not. but since your name is registered, if someone tried to register that name they would get a msg stating that the name has already been taken. the only other thing i can think of, is like the other person said, if it was someone who used your computer and you had your cookies on your computer set to automatically log you in.

I think you are right on with the register thing Van because I always use dianefromcanada and when I registered I thought I wouldn`t be able to use my old name but sure enough I was able to do eventhought things are very different. I think that is what happen to happyblond. I think she wasn`t registered like me before and maybe someone else took the name not knowing it was her name and registered????
My guess is that it`s an innocent mistake. Often, a person will find a new forum and begin posting without realizing that a certain name has already been established. However, it is a bit puzzling since your name has already been registered! Perhaps there is just a computer glich somewhere that didn`t recognize that the name was already taken, but I`d give the person the benefit of the doubt!

Thank for the replys. However, I thought of another answer that might be the case..
When I think about it, I might have wrote a question like that a long time ago, and maybe the person who replied did a search on "ARTec" (that was the subject of the thread) and answered the question, and when it went on the board it looked as though it was a recent question, because it was answered recently, however the question was written a long time ago.
Anyway, no harm done. Happyblonde original
