Is this ok..

Well i've been trying to get waves for like 2 years but i noticed i was doing it all wrong so i've been doing the right thing now for like 2 months and this is it in the morning i take my du rag off brush while im getting dressed and im off to school i brush while im walking and on the bus and stuff... and when i come home... i brush put durag on then take off take a shower and while im taking my shower i put shampoo on and stick my whole head under the water then come up and start brushing ( is that ok) and after i brush out the shower put some carrot creme on then durag.... i wanna know if my routine is straight also in the morning when i take my du rag off should i put some more carrot creme in my head?
