OK, I just saw your sig and I'm dying to know about your install. I wish I could've met the gorgeous Sara and had my hair done by her. Where'd you guys hook up? Did you take one of her classes?
I met Sara (and Rae from Hair Alchemy) in Chicago. I had the hair appointment with Sara on a Saturday and took the hair extension class on Sunday. Sara did a full head of pinchbraids with dark brown 50mm curl and some deep red streaks. She is lightening fast - it only took about 3 hours.
The class was great - I learned a lot both from Sara and Rae. They are amazing. Sara even taught us how to make our own hand tied wefts.
Pinchbraids take practice and coordination, but I'm starting to get it. What I really need are heads to practice on, though, and I don't think I could do them on the back of my own head.
The cool thing about the pinchbraids is that you can hide them and be conventional or show them and be funky. Plus, they're staying in my head way better than LG or protac.

Yeah, I would love to see! I really want to learn and have it done. Do you know how much it costs to have it done there? Where exactly in chicago? I really want to save up and go one of these days...

Rae has a website - http://www.hairalchemy.com/
The studio is near the University of Illinois campus close to downtown.
