I am planning my first extension attempt on myself in about 3 weeks but want to make sure I have the right method.

My hair is a pretty light blonde and it come to just below my armpits when I bring it to the front over my shoulders but a little longer if it hands as the back.  I want it to come about 2-3 inches below my boobs... nothing too drastic, just so its much thicker and healthier looking.

I was thinking fo my first attempt i would try protac.  How does it respind to being tied back?  I work out a LOT so it would have to go back everyday at some point.

Also, lets say I decide I want a darker layer poking through... can I just stick that to the bottom layer or do I have to dye my own hair too?!

Thanks :)

I put mine up all the time or in a ponytail. Nearly everyday. I can put in a mid or low ponytail just fine and I can twist it up and clip it up too. I higher ponytail is hard with the placement I use, but if you plan to do higher ponytails, you would just place your rows a little differently.

You can just add rows of a darker underlayer.
