I know this may sound stupid but I have never heard anything about it before......

I heard ppl talking about food colouring in there hair, would this actually work to dye it?? And would you have to add anything to it??

I have heard this too, but I have never tried it. I ‘ve also heard you can use kool-aid. ---- Tried that on a friend after bleaching, did not work to well.
I do not think it ( food coloring) would work, but it might if you mixed it with some gel and put it on light colored hair. I would not recommend putting it on over-porous hair because it might stain.

oh boy. let me tell you this, myself and others that i know have tried this. now my bout was about 5 years ago, all i can say is messy, sticky (at least the koolaid) with food coloring, if your hair is dark, its not going to show up that well if at all. if it is light, it will probably turn out blotchy with it being darker in some areas and less color or no color in other areas. even if you make sure to dye all of your hair. so here is the question to you. if you have long hair, even just like to your chin, think of how many bottles of food coloring you would need to get. if you dilute it with anything else, it wouldnt work. so say you go out and buy enough, then you just spent enough money, and as much money as you would if not more for a box of hairdye. so why do that when you could get a good effect for that much money? some might say that there isnt enough options for funky hair color out there, but trust me, look on the net, there are tons of companies that specialize in wacky colors. also cvs has started carrying funky hair colors in shades such as blue, green, pink, and red red in some areas. so you might want to look for that also.

I goofed and thought food color in my friend's 8 year old daughter's hair would be fun. HOW DO WE GET IT OUT?!? She has long, fine, very blonde hair. We used red, blue and green coloring. PLEASE tell me there is a solution to getting it out! THANKS!

Light-blonde hair takes even temporary dyes really easily-- in primary school I knew a girl who sprayed her hair pink for Hallowe'en and it stayed that way for like a week or two! You might try washing it with dishwashing liquid, as I've heard some people here say that'll fade dyes, but I've also heard it's very harsh, so it would probably have to be conditioned a lot after.
More awesome than a manatee!
