I was looking to buy my wife some styling tools for Christmas.  Im looking into ceramic irons for her in hopes of finding something easier, quicker, and equally or even more healthier for her to use than her current hot comb n' stove method.

Ive been researching various products and CHI/Farouk seems to pop up often.  I've seen mention of a Deep Brilliance line of cermaic irons, but Ive yet to find any place online I can purchase them.  Are they available, and where?

If not would the original or Turbo CHI models be acceptable?
My wife's hair would be like a medium tight curl(kind of pillow stuffing/fake snow like when wet and natural), soft and sort of light-weight when pressed.  She certainly doesn have thick Oprah like hair.

What are advantages and disadvantages of the different sizes of flat iron(1 inch, 1 1/2inch, 2 inch, etc)?

She normally styles her hair down, shoulder-length.  Pressing weekly, no chemical treatment for a few years now, and no coloring ever.

Is there any real difference between the different CHI blow dryers(original, professional, turbo, etc)?

I have heard good things about the CHI myself but have never used it. I just purchased a Solia flat iron and I love it. It makes my straightening quick and easy. A ceramic iron is definately a healthier choice for hair. "Ionic" blow dryers are a good for that same reason. The size of the iron depends on the length of her hair. If she has shorter hair 1in irons work well beacuse you aren't dealing with that much hair. If longer a bigger size would be suitable, however the smaller irons make it easier to straighten the hair closest to the scalp.

I hope this helps. good luck!

It turns out you cant get the Deep Brilliance ceramic irons and ionic dryers at retailers yet(as far as I understand).  You have to order from the source.  I went to the Farouk website, found the customer service number through contacts and called direct.

Hopefully the wife should be smiling ear to ear come Christmas morning Clap...praying it will arrive right on time Friday.
