I'm really getting sick of growing my hair out. I'm yet another person wanting to have long hair fast. My hair is very thick and wavy and I have to get it trimmed a lot or else it goes kinda poofy It's only now that I'm growing it out properly. My hair naturally grows quite fast, but lately it's been a little slow.
My hair right now would be chin length if it was straight and I want to grow it out really long maybe about 6 inches past my shoulders I don't know.
Anyway how much do extensions usually cost and how long do they last? Does it take a long time to do them? I don't have much money but I'm prepared to save a lot I don't get much money but it grows faster than my hair.

If I get a vote, I vote to do away with the idea of extensions, which often look like, well, extensions, and put up with the annoyance of letting your hair grow out. It'll be so worth it in the long run.
I don't know much about extensions, but maybe you should start taking vitamin supplements that contain biotin. I think it helps my hair grow, I get about an inch every 6 weeks Drink protein drinks too
I'm thinking of doing the same thing and I posted in Hair Extensions section asking about using a clip on hairpiece that will give me instant length without resorting to weaving, wefting or gluing while I grow out my hair.
You could check into http://www.hisandher.com and click on clip-on hairpieces. I was curious if anyone had tried those and if they work well with thick, layered hair? :)
It's a clip on so you can easily take it off at the end of the day or night, or when you're in mood to wear your real hair length. I like this convenience and not too taxing on real hair.
Heres some advice- Have long hair while you get long hair. I had really long hair down to the middle of my waist and a year ago I cut it off to my chin thinking I needed a drastic change. Now its a little past my shoulders- But I am dying to have it long again and even though my hair grows super fast I cannot wait anylonger. Do what Im going to do- If you like.... There are so many different types of hair extension companys that you can choose from..Me personally- I would highly reccomend Akinda Magic hair extensions- they use somthing called raw virgin hair which is real human hair that has never had any chemicals on it. It is supposed to last up to four years without drying out or thinning out which means you dont have to keep buying new extensions- all you have to do is get the extensions you have retightened every couple of months which isnt very much money. There extensions are also supposed to help your hair grow out faster and healthier while in your hair and they do not damage your hair either. So you can have really long hair while your hair grows out,and after four years or even a couple of years your own hair will be really long- so than you can take the extensions out. It is a bit pricey and you said you didnt have alot of money- But it is worth saving the money up for because you dont want to go out and get cheap hair extensions and have them dry up on you in a month or a weeks time and than have to go buy more. Its a waste of money and time. So I hope I could help you- The hair Boutique website were on now has some interesting things to say about Akinda as well as well as there website for contact if your interested. Cheers***

What kind of prices are we talking about? I've heard over $2000. I'd be willing to pay up to $1000 if they really did last that long, I'd get a parttime job just to pay for it, I'd love to have long hair. I don't know about virgin hair, I want to bleach my hair at some stage and I doubt if I could do that after I got the extensions, they'd probably just fall out or at least get loose.
Extensions would be nice. The price of doing the extensions would be around $100. They last around 3 to 4 months. I Had extensions and after taking Cats Claws every day, my hair was healthy and it grew 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches a month. Now my hair to my waist.

Hair extensions is a great way to grow your hair out, but still keep it looking great. When you have extensions in, you avoid the daily stress of heat styling and harsh products that we put on our hair. But when it comes to extensions you have to be careful with who you let touch your hair. They are many people who call themselves "professional extensioners" because they took a weekend class on hair extensions. Those are the people you stay away from. You also have to be careful with what type of hair extensions you choose. There are many different types out there, but only a few that are non-damaging. I do hair extensions, but I won''t go near the glue, cornrows, and braids that break hair off.
As long as braids are done carefully, not too small, and not left in too long, and the hair is looked after well while it is in braids, they do no damage to the hair, and they are a great way of adding length to hair while growing it out. They are also a good way of protecting the hair as they prevent frequent washing and heat styling. My just past shoulder length hair is braided at the moment, with extensions to below my waist, and I plan to keep the braids in for a total of two months. I'm working on a two-months-on, two-months-off basis. The lady who does my braids is very experienced and consequently not cheap, but from what I've heard I think braids are less expensive than other forms of extensions.
