Try diluting your shampoo to 50/50 or more with water (use a small
bottle and roll to mix, don't shake, only make up what you need for
each wash so it doesn't sit around in the diluted state). Shampoo
is very concentrated and it can overdry the scalp, causing the scalp to
overcompensate by producing too much oil. Dilute shampoo will
still foam and clean your hair. After you switch to diluted
shampoo you should be able to go longer between washes, and after your
scalp gets used to that (give it a couple of months to adjust) you can
also try only washing with conditioner every other wash (and dilute
shampoo on every other wash). That will help you go even longer
without it getting as oily because it will adjust again.
