Does anyone have any good tips on eyebrow bleaching? I have dark brown eyebrows and am dying my hair blonde, and I have heard that you should stay with a taupe color. But I would like the best, safest way to do it without looking crazy, and how long should you leave the bleach on? I need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bleach my eyebrows all the time. I use Jolen Creme bleach on them for about 7 minutes or so (a little longer on the thicker area close to my nose). Be VERY careful not to get any in your eyes! The first few times you do it, it's probably a good idea to do one brow at a time and keep that eye closed. Until you know how much your brows will lighten, I'd recommend checking after 3 minutes... then every 2 minutes or so until you've reached the desired shade. I do mine about once per month. Brows grow in quickly, but if you decide to take your hair darker again and your brows are still light, you can use brow pencils to compensate. Good luck! :)

Thank you very much for the tips, I'm very grateful you replied, but I do have a quick question, where do you get Jolen Creme bleach? Can you get it at Sallys? I will definetly take your advice about the timing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you again, if you have any other tips I need to know, my eyebrows are kind of thin, do you think that matters or no? What color is your end result? Were your brows dark brown too?
You can buy Jolen at most drug stores... Walgreens, CVS, Eckerd, etc. Walmart has it, too.
My brows are very dark brown - even too dark for my natural hair color. I bleach them to dark blond. You will probably prefer to keep them slightly darker than your hair color. With thin brows, you may like them even a little darker.
If you end up going too light, remember brow pencils can do wonders.
One more thing - if you also wax or pluck your eyebrows, don't bleach right afterwards. Wait 24 hours because your skin may be too sensitive. It's better to bleach first, then remove unwanted hair.
Good luck!

When I bleached my own naturally very dark brows with Jolen bleach, I always looked like an idiot. I now have my colorist bleach them for me and they look MUCH MUCH better. When I did them myself they were either TOO LIGHT (pencil didn't help much) or too orange. Just my two cents.

I have done this and it looked pretty good.I only left mine on for about 5 minutes cuz my eyebrows are a light brown. You may want to buy some eyebrow powder or liner to shape them if they appear too light. Stick with a brown-caramel color cuz anything darker will look fake and Pamela Andersonish.
