I'm getting my hair cut and maybe highlighted soon and am wondering if any of you have some opinions on what would work with my face. My hair is straightened in the picture but is wavy and curly if I let it. I'm thinking about sidebangs and maybe natural-looking red highlights. I also don't want to cut too much length off. Thanks!! My sister has curly hair like yours, Try getting some long layers cut into your hair. It will help with the movement of you hair. If you want you can ask them to thin it out alittle but thats if you feel your hair is to heavy. Its a bit shocking at first, but my sister loves her hair now. I do no suggest side bangs unless you plan on staighteningyour hair all the time because they will frizz up and be more curly than the rest of your hair. Well good luck!

Your hair is lovely!  You have beautiful natural highlights and curl!  It doesn't look too fluffy or like it needs thinned.  If I were you, I'd leave it just like it is.

About the bangs..... I don't think you'd have anything to worry about.  I have long bangs, and my hair is a little curlier than yours.  I use a curling iron to straighten them.  It only takes about 5 seconds.  (I never straighten the rest of my hair)  Then I comb them all over to one side across my forehead.  When I leave them curly, I just kinda shove them back with the rest of my hair while it's air-drying.  They don't curl up into funky kinks or anything.  I usually wear them straight half the time and curly half the time.  It gives me a great variation in styling options.

What I've learned about bangs:
~ don't cut them too short or they'll be rediculously short when they're curly.  (I always trim mine when they're curly, not straight)
~ don't cut them straight across one length.  If you do, they tend to create the "pyramid" look and fluff out from your face.
~ start slow and work your way into what you feel works best for you.  Start long and thin.  As you get used to the new look and dealing with bangs, you can add thickness or trim shorter.

I keep mine layered between nose and chin length so that when they're curly the shortest layers are about eye level.  This also keeps them long enough to tuck behind my ears or pull back in a ponytail.  That's just what works best for me.

p.s. yes, i cut my own bangs Smile
