Does anyone know of a good product I can use on my, mid-chin legnth, fine hair that will give me some seperation and texture? (a la Meg Ryan) I have tried Sheer Blonde Funky Chunky, didn`t work, I have also tried Kiehls silk groom creme (makes it look oily and weighs it down) I am in the process of growing out my hair and stuck in a boring rut, any help would be appreciated.

I think I have tried every product on the market for fine hair and the bottom line is--they don`t work. Anything you try will make your hair flat and greasy looking. Opt instead for playing up its good points--the silkiness and shine. I know, I know, that isn`t what you wanted to hear. Believe me, I have been there. But just be patient and keep growing it out. You`ll be happy with it eventually. You might try the Amplify hairspray though. It comes closest to doing what you want (just don`t use a whole lot).

Matrix Amplify will work on most thin, fine hair. Try the Amplify shampoo, the Amplify Gel and then if you really want root lift and separation try the Amplify Root lift. Blow dry your hair upside down and direct air flow from the ends to the roots. This will ruffle the cuticle and make it bigger. Use a good hair paste for separation at the end. I like the Edwin Paul hair paste. The problem with wax like Redken Water Wax is that it is much harder to remove.
Remember that blow drying on a regular basis can harm your hair so don`t do this all the time. The Amplify gel also has a good protective composition which should help your hair avoid blow dryer damage. When possible use a blow dryer with at least 3 heat settings...hot, warm and cold and try to use the warm.

Thanks, Is there any other hair paste you know about that I can get at a drugstore? I always blow dry on warm setting, my hair is in good condition also, I am just having trouble with the ends!!! I`ll let y`all know if anything works for me. Thanks for the replies.

Thanks, Is there any other hair paste you know about that I can get at a drugstore? I always blow dry on warm setting, my hair is in good condition also, I am just having trouble with the ends!!! I'll let y'all know if anything works for me. Thanks for the replies.

I can`t really recommend any other pastes since I haven`t had a chance to check them out personally. However, I would suggest that you just go to the nearest drugstore and look for a few and then pick the one that sounds like it would work for your hair. I think Redken makes a paste along with their various waxes. I also think TIGI has a paste.
