nope
the process that you did and the steps you went through are correct. You hair is behaiving as predicted with asian hair.
those chemical relaxer do not give a lasting results, but it does cut your ironing time a bit. Yes it sucks but that is just how it behaves. I used to apply relaxers every 2 weeks to keep my hair straight.
For the record I could apply relaxers to my hair up to 6 times, before I noticed any damages (dryness, frizziiness)
There was this one time where I fried my hair, I had it colored twice, relaxed 4 times, and bleached onced and then relaxed it again.
what i got was beyong damaged, it was irreplaceble (to the left, to the left )
my hair was mushy like cooked pasta and was so fragile just a pinch could break it.
So if you stay away from bleach and avoid dyeing your hair, you will do just fine. Just remember to cut your hair every 2 months to get rid of the damaged ends.
One of the only but not sure way to have bone straight hair permanently is to do the rebonding/japanese straightning/ thermal reconditioning method.
It is the extreme method of chemically straightning your hair with the use of a hot iron with the thermostat set at 180 Celsius ( water boils at 100 Celsius)
Process is long, so you will be sitting in that chair for a long time. In america the process from what I heard is pretty darn expensive around $300 or more (i am not sure about recent prices, but my american friend told me it was really expensive). In asia you can get it done for a fraction of its price.
So keep on straightning and avoid burning.

I leave my hair about medium length and I like the way it looks when my hair is perfectly straight. However, the problem is that my hair gets kind of wavy-poof right after I get it washed. To achieve the straight look, I have to spend about 10 minutes with a ceramic straightener. But I think I'd like to try to get it permanently like that with minimal effort.
So I thought I'd try to use chemicals to straighten it. I bought a chemical relaxer kit from Shoppers Drug Mart and used that (I left it on for the maximum recommended time). For the first few days, my hair was perfectly straight and it was exactly the way I wanted. However, after a week, my hair went back to its original state. Two weeks later I used the straightener, and the same thing happened. My hair seems to resist the straightener. I know using chemicals on your hair in such a short period of time is bad, but to be honest, I really didnt notice any damage to my hair. I've tried another brand of chemical straightener, but still, no lasting results.
So does anyone have some tips on what I can do to keep my hair permanently straight (with minimal cost). Would something like this work better:
