wvpumpkin, I love Elite Thermo. You cant beat the price and it does last as long as you take a little care with it. I usually get the color I need so Ive never had to color it. That would be a question for Amm or one of the other wonderful ladies on this forum. I think I read somewhere that someone tried to color synth with vegetable dyes but I dont remember if they had much luck or not.
So its going on 3 weeks with my Elite Thermo. The ends were starting to get bunchy and frizzy and I was thinking that I would have to take it out and put in all new hair. All Ive done so far is wash and blow dry it. I havnt tried to curl it yet. I bought a flat iron for $50 that goes up to 392 degrees so I thought "What the heck", if it melts it melts and I get new hair...lol...
I washed my hair with Ion's Super Moisture shampoo and conditioner, while it was still wet, I sprayed on some Velvasil. I then used the flat iron. Well after much sizzling and smoking......the hair came out absolutely beautiful, just like new out of the package. Its silky soft and not frizzy or bunchy on the ends anymore. Yippeeeee.
Im going to try curling it tonight I think. Ive been reading back posts on the best way to do it.
I think the frizzing and bunching has something to do with our climate. Its very dry here and the water is SUPER hard because Ive had the same trouble with HH hair. But I think I may have found my solution so Im a happy camper!!

So do you think that the thermofiber is better than the wa wa, as far as bunching is concerned? I need sweet honey color, but the sweet honey tangles and bunches alot. I would love to find the thermofiber in the right color. Can you color this elite thermofiber????

I've had my elite thermo in for about 2 weeks now and am surprised at how much I like it...i dont think that it will last nearly as long as huiman, but it is so much cheaper...I curled it this week - dripping wet, right out of the shower, and sizzled it for about a minute...then held it in place with a bobby pin till it dried...love it down cause my own hair curls at the ends naturally, and the thermo holds the curl perfectly and for a long time once you get it to curl:)

I believe Lil Bohemia's comment about being rough actually goes with almost all synthetic, other than wawa, I felt with wawa I could be as brutal as I wanted but didn't like the texture. I use plastikhaar & you also have to be gentler but I also think that's one thing I learned about my hair, be gentler. Looper brushes are really fabulous to keep your hair unmatted then spend the money on a good brush for the ends. I wear my hair too long for the elite but have friends who will be trying it shortly, if only they made it really long.
Elite Thermo is great! I really liked it when I tried it.
One thing I did was brush it a little too roughly once when it was wet, which frizzed out and snapped some of the ends. It did help to flat iron it when damp- but the damage was permanant. SO- just a tip- be a little gentle brushing through it when it is wet.
