My daughter is a BIG fan of Aquamarine and wanted long hair with blue highlights like in the movie, but she donated her hair to Locks of Love last year and is only 9 (so the blue hair probably wouldn't work for school).  I thought, "Well, I know a bit about hair extensions, so why not make some for her."

I got the Elite Thermo 10/16/27 blend and 6 clips from Amm's store, shrinkies.net.  Then, I made three rows or hair - the bottom row is quadruple wefted, the top two are double wefted.  I used my sewing machine to sew the wefts together and to sew in the clip-ins.  It took less than an hour.  I'm going to braid in some light blue Plastikhaar that Sara gave my daughter for the highlights.

I think it came out great.  The Elite Thermo feels a lot like my daughter's natural hair and the color matches pretty well.  Here's a picture.  I think you can easily see where my daughter's hair ends and the extensions begin, but that's because she had her hair in braids last night.  When it's straight, I bet it will blend perfectly.

She LOVES them, and I'm jealous.  Now I think I'm going to need to make some for myself, and OMG for less than $30, it certainly beats the price of pre-made clip-ins!Tongue

What is your daughters natural hair color? I need extensions the exact color of her hair. In the pic, at least on my monitor, the extensions look quite a bit darker than her hair. So are you saying in person this color matches her perfectly? If so, that is the color I need.

My daughter's hair has a bunch of different colors of blond in it naturally. It ranges from dark blond to golden blond to platinum blond on the top where the sun has lightened it.  She is so lucky!

The only thing that I would need to do to make it absolutely perfect would be to add some platinum highlights on the extension hair, or maybe a 614/27 weft for the top layer, but since she's only 9 and it is just for dress-up, I'm not gonna worry too much about it.

Oh really it is blonde colors huh, because on my monitor it looks like a real reddish strawberry blonde. which is what my color is. Her hair is beautiful.

I know there have been some questions about curling the thermofiber.  I used the boiling water dunk method and it curled beautifully!  Here's another picture:
