Frenchie - I agree with you totally, personally I'd have layered her hair to frame her face more but she liked it like that so you have to go with the client really don't you. Now I'm nearly a qualified hairdresser, I love cutting and hate it when they don't let me lol x
I find your post very interesting if you want to study face morphology and what fits better to which type of face.
I am not an expert at all but here's my personal view:
The first girl has a perfect face for long hair and volume. She has jaws and I think it is more flatering for her to wear length around her face.
Same for the second picture.
The third girl, however has a thin face and too much volume can "drown" her face, in my very personal opinion.
I have about the same type of face, and I noticed that too much volume isn't always flatering for me. I wear my hair long (22') but I don't wear too much (4oz)
I would keep the length for her but trim her hair more at the ends.
Again, be sure I don't want to offend anyone in my comments, I just want to give a modest advice.
I find that finding the right amount of hair extensions, and the right balance between volume and length is a very tricky part of installing hair extensions. It has taken me a while to find what is the most flatering for my face.
