I love to swim at night but my mom insists that I blow dry my hair before I go to sleep. She told me I can get fungus in my scalp if I sleep with wet hair. Is this true or whats up with this?

My mom used to tell me that when I was kid. No truth to it. The reason my mom told me that was so I wouldn`t ruin the sheets with my wet head. Probably same with your mom.

I don`t really see how you could get fungus on your head unless it was always damp for a long time and hair drys while you sleep, all though it may not be straight in the morning.

Well I am not sure why your mother says such things but I can say that I sleep 99% of the time with damp hair and hasn`t used a hair blower for over ten years or so.
Never had a problem.
