Up until 6 years ago I had no problem coloring my hair..to go lighter or to color the gray, which started at about 27 yrs old, then one day..with out warning I colored my hair and ended up in the emergency room!..my face was swollen so bad I looked like , honestly an alien, my eyes almost shut, my scalp..left with oozing scabs, and I had to be hooked up with ivs for 4 hours meds and sent home with benadril, I know the culprit may be ppd's at this point, but my question is, Is there anyone out there that knows of a hair coloring product that I can use that will not have this affect on me?..I realize that part of the problem was that I had my hair tightly corn rolled right after coloring, which opened up the follicles, but that still leaves me somewhat swollen when I try some that "Claim to be allergy free".
this is exactly why EVERY hair coloring product has that warning to do an allergy test 24 hours before.....anyone can develop an allergy to different products at ANY time (even things that are labeled hypoallergenic...that just means the ingredients are stastically less likely to cause allergic reactions in MOST people)
any product that you dare to use again, hypoallergenic or not, after your terrible experience you simply MUST do that patch test before hand.....best of luck!
Thanks for reminding me of that, at this point I am very afraid to try any of them though, I was hoping I could find one that is less likely to cause this reaction, Have you heard of any? Iv'e even heard of pills to take away gray but have no idea if they really work. thanks again.
