My hair hasnt been dyed in almost a year now. I had highlights put in then, its med brown with wierd brassy colors still. I want to go a really light brown or dark blond. Will a box of dye cover it? Or am I better off going to the hairdressers? Whats the differnece between doing it at home vs salon. Is there less damage one way? I heard your hair grows in darker if you go to the salon.

If you want to go more than one shade lighter it`s best to go to a salon. If you color your hair only one shade lighter or any shade darker it`s pretty save to do yourself. The reason is if you want hair much lighter than your own they have to bleach the color out first and if you don`t know what you`re doing you could really damage your hair.
