Honestly, I don't recommend sew in since you just had a baby. Your hair it too fragile. I do recommend going with tape, you can do it yourself. Buy some Elite thermo, you can decide what length you like, if it works for you and such.
Don't get me wrong sew ins are great but due to having a baby you are going to have weak spots in your hair, just like having thyroid problems. You need one of the gentlest methods you can do.
You can easily do the method at home. You get to experiment and not feel bad if you don't like placement for such. A simple dose of acetone and they are out.
try doing a search on this forum, I haven't used one personally, so I don't know what sites would be best.
you should be able to get up to your crown with no problem - that will provide more support to your own hair further on top to provide more lift . Im not sure if that makes sense or not, but it seems to work.
I was looking for something that lasted a little longer. I like to swim and pretty active over the summer. Plus I need some hair added to the crown of my head, I don't think the seamless would work well.

well first of all congraduations on your baby! And I just saw a dermatologist about my own hair thining, and actually I have the same type of hair loss you are experiencing. Look up teilogen effluvium (i think its spelled right) - its VERY common to have your hair thin after childbirth for up to almost a year because your body has undergone some major changes from the prgrency and the birth itself. but its a form of hair-loss that is non-scaring which means it will grow back, it just takes time.
as for the extensions, I'm not sure how thin your hair is, so its tricky to reccemend an exact method, but you should really be able to do it for less than $500 if you do your reserach, especially if its mostly something you want to use to get through your hair growing back in.
I had my boyfriend do the tape method on me, using supertape and Bohyme brand hair. it was really very easy. its a great simple method and the hair is reusable. I will say that it is annoying to clean off the gooeyness left both in your hair and the extensions, but its cheaper than buying hair after every single install. I'd say with hair, tape, dying the extensions for a perfect match (which was just my prersonal prefrence), getting a clarifying shampoo for before the install. I didn't spend more than probably $150? And there is still tape, shampoo, etc left over for more installs.
I'm sure some of the other finer haired girls will chime in, but I found this method has worked pretty well for me.
I just had a baby 10 months ago. I always had fine thin hair. But since the baby it's gotten even worse! Also, I tried to colour it and it started to break.
I have worn the clip on extensions in the past and really, they look bad on me. Maybe I don't know how to wear them properly but they just didnt work. So I decided.. ok I cant take it anymore I will spend $1500 plus to have some put in. Well after giving this a lot of thought, I sobered up and realized.. that's just insane. I couldnt justify spending that kind of money.
I looked online and saw I could buy a kit to apply hair extensions. total cost I am thinking is in the $500 range. still cheaper than having it done, plus I would always have the tools to fo it myself.
How hard would it be to have a friend put them in?
