Hi Sweet4Candie
Your son is still a baby. The molar in his skull is not going to completely close before he is 3yrs old. I wouldn't put anything on his head that is tight right now. Just work with his hair, you may be able to find some products for African-American babies that will help. Other than some not too harsh products, brushing and haircuts, I wouldnt worry about it too much. Once you get used to styling his hair, (you probably wouldn't let it grow too much before another haircut anyway) you'll find your rhythm with getting his hair "trained". Good luck to you, let him be a baby/toddler as long as you can and enjoy him.
I just got my son's hair cut for the first time. Everyone says I have to train his hair because it's basically sticking up and not laying flat. My husbands suggests putting on a stocking cap at night to help lay it flat. The only problem with this is that my son does not like ANYTHING on his head and the stocking cap is usually on the opposite side of the bed when he wakes up in the morning. My question is if one else had this problem? Do you know what products I can use on his head to help train it? TIA
