Hi
I am going to by 20th high school reunion and want to GREAT!
SO I have never gotten extensions and I dont know anyone who does it or has gotten them to give me advice. Just been researching on my own.

I found a lady with good references and will do my full head  100% human european hair with keratin bonding ( isnt that fusion?) for $500, so after  5 months, would have to start over IF i wanted them again.

BUT, I also found a ladyy who uses hand made custom color wefts 100% human hair too. She takes measuremts of your head and samples of your hair to order it.  Since I have thin hair, she said 2  maybe 3 tracks and will do some "razor cutting"? to blend and layer it all together with my top hair.

Then $70   6-7 weeks later to be tightend. Her price is $470 and includes that 1st tightening. and can re-use it,

Both do hair out of their home. SO they are the same price.. I just want it to look great and not FAKE and am so confused!! They each tell me cons of the others. I read Hand wefts are thinner and so it shouldnt bulge out. And I dont want it to hurt or not make me sleep. but not limit any styles.

I would appreaciate any advice from you pros!!!!!!!

I like the sound of the second lady who custom makes the wefts. Ask her how many times you can re-use the hair she provides. It sounds like she does sew in tracks? I love my sew in.

IMO keratin (which yes is essentially fusion) is very damaging long term (but so will any method when done improperly). I prefer the look and feel of wefts compared to individuals. Its easier to maintain for most people who are new to extensions as well.

its hard to compare the 'thickness' of handied wefts vs fusion because they don't use the same method what-so-ever. one is a weft, one is individual. they both can look great, a lot is personal prefrence.

That's an excellent price for fusion and yes, you would have to get them redone. Who are these good references? Are these people YOU know or people SHE has told you about? Have you seen her work in person or just pics?
Unless she doing monthly or bi-monthly maintenance, replacing some of the fusions that are too loose or showing, I think 5 months is too long to have them. See how much the maintenance charges are and what will be done during them. Do you have to buy your own hair? Will she style it afterward? If she cuts it she may end up cutting your natural hair.

Why do you need custom colored hand tied wefts, what color is your hair? Can you show us some pics of your hair? How do you plan to wear your hair? How is she going to install them? Is she sewing them, glueing them, threading them, linking them, taping them? Will she leave rows of hair between each track?
If she razor cuts the hair to blend in with your hair she will be cutting YOUR HAIR!!! It may look nice while the tracks are still in but will look like a mess once you remove them.

The price is great for the fusion.
As for the tracks, you may not need custom colored wefts, plus you can install the wefts/tracks yourself for alot less and if you only need 2-3 tracks it should take you no more than about 10-30 minutes depending on the technique.
As for the fusions, that's going to take between 2 1/2 to 4 hours(ask her how long she takes to do them) You could also do those on your own but is way more complicated than doing a couple of taped on tracks and will probably take you far longer han 4 hours you first time installing them yourself.
I've worn both and I've never had damage from either.
Where do you live?

Hi I am in Littleton, SW of Denver
Wow thanks for all the things I dont know the answers too. I am going to consultations soon for both and will for sure ask all that . I have thin golden blond hair and that how the weft lady does it. I plan to wear is long and down. She sews them in but orders custum made hand wefts to your hair exactly. I will get a pic of my thin short boring blond hair soon.

Thanks for telling me i have to keep maintenance up for the fusion way, she is very far away and I dont rememeber her telling me that. That may lead to pick the weft lady who is closer for maintenance. I have read too many horror stories of mad fusion uninstalls and the damage I guess.

I am just a nervous newbie that doesnt want my 1st experience to be my last due to not being happy.

I think $470 is expensive for 2-3 tracks. Does that include the price of the hair? Ask her what hair is she using, brand and texture( ex. Bohyme French Refined, Virgin Russian or Virgin Indian Remy processed beauty supply hair, etc.)?
Make sure you right everything down.

Good for you happycat You're gonna take the plunge!!! You will love them!
But, just in case you don't you don't want to be rushing around before your reunion trying to get them taken out! Since this is your first time you need to ask the weft lady how much she would charge if you use her hair, and have her sew in clips,  blend and style it for you. Tell her you don't want more than 3 rows.... any more than that and it gets hard to find room for placement on fine hair. If your own hair is short then go with the 3 rows, it your hair is long (to you shoulders) then request only 2 rows. If you feel it's too much money then ask her how much it would cost if you bring your own hair. You can get some excellent quality at www.hairextensions101.com. I'm certain her prices are much lower than your custom made wefts lady. Send her a small piece of your own hair color from the ends where it's lightest. She can hook you up with the color that will look best for your hair. Don't forget to tell her if your hair is curly, wavy or straight.
If you decide you loove them than have the weft lady sew in the wefts, or have the fusion lady cut it off the weft for fusion.

Hi, just want to say that I've had fusion keretin in now for about 6,7 months only had one reinstall, and they hold up pretty good, easy to maintain and look totally real, I do how ever have a glue gun and on ocassion have had to reglue one or two, mainly cuz they start to loose the clor of the tip and it starts to show like an amber color(the glue) but other than that ,they last, are reusable and as for take out I only take out whats loose and replace and reglue what needs to be. I hope this helps, as for damage the first take out, the girl was rough, didn't have much expereience, kiied me when she did, andI really didn't have much damage, just dryish hair, but, then again i didn't have time to really check it out, I got an install right after take out. But I'm also new to all this, thats just my expereince so far, i now learned to do fusion myself me and a friend and we are attempting to install our selfs, we have been practicing on a dummy head and so far not too bad! good luck and I hope you make a "smash" at your reunion, knock em out with looking good!
