Last LG Bohyme take-down and install

Hi ! Sorry I have been a little away from the forums lately, a lot of work to do !

I have just done my last take-down and re-install and it went pretty well. I had a 95% Liquid Gold install on and I still find it so much easier than tape. I used a combination of acetone and Goo Gone for the removal.

I still have a problem with how time-consuming this whole process of take-down + install is. My goal is to find ways to cute down the time. I was able to do so by sewing some wefts together so it makes less pieces to wash + shampoo and blow-dry.

The whole thing took me 3h45. I am thinking I can save some time by maybe letting some wefts soak in Goo Gone when I shampoo my own head, so that the cleaning of the wefts will maybe be faster?

I’d like to be able to do the whole thing in 3 hours. I think the more I’ll do it the more I’ll be efficient in terms of time.

So I added some pics of my last install, it’s probably getting boring by now because it is still the same hairstyle … what can I say? Me like it!

I am wearing 4 oz of Bohyme silky straight 22, I trimmed about 1 cm this time because the ends looked a little dry.

This hair is now more than 2 months old. I have some wefts on the front that I have been wearing since December 2006.

In terms of routine, I wash my hair everyday with some non sulfate shampoos, my favorite being the Avalon Organics ones. I use the glistening shampoo, the nourishing one, the clarifying one and the one for scalp problems too. This last one is really good for me because I get itchiness when I wear extensions, no matter which technique I use.

I use a LOT of conditioner every day and I find that the Pantene ones are good for me, they are unexpensive, and therefore I don’t mind using a lot every day. I like the color revival one, the smooth & sleek and the one for dry and damaged hair. I also use the “deep fortifying treatment” and the “Pro V restorative”. I like to comb my hair when the conditioner is on it, so I make sure that the conditioner is really well distributed. I like my hair to be “creamy” (lots of conditioner on!) for a few minutes like that every day after shampoo. On damp hair I use the L’Oreal Heat Seeker Hot Straight, also unexpensive ($5) to protect the hair from the heat. If it is a very humid day I use a silicon serum like the one from John Frieda or the KMS Therapy Plus one or Sunsilk Defrizz cream.

After blow drying I use my Solia tourmaline iron for 5 mn or so. The Bohyme hair, just blow dried, looks kind of dull and big after a few weeks of my harsh treatment, but a few minutes of my straightening iron and it looks just great again! I couldn’t be happy with the way my hair looks if I didn’t use my straightening iron everyday, I am totally addicted to it! I bought it on folica.com, and I highly recommend this item. I sometimes use a bit of Biosilk Silk therapy before ironing or some Bed Head After Party Smooting Cream. Nice stuff.

My little plans for the future: trying an ounce of Russian hair so I can finally measure the difference with Bohyme and see how it would hold up to my daily hair routine. Maybe giving a try to Elite Thermofiber, I have been curious about synthetic and feel like I have to try at least one kind.

For now I am very glad that I have a method + hair that work for me and that I can afford.

Oh, and I hope I can get back to a descent hair length and texture -I am talking about my own hair here!- I think I am going to cut it to jaws level and I am hoping I get get my hair to the same length. Oh well, here are the pics! So here is the ugly before...
