I have a natural wave in my hair and want to blow it dry straight some days.

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreicated.

I should tell you I am horrible at styling my hair--I can do basic stuff but that is it. My hairdresser had to show me how to scrunch & curl my hair with a curling iron.

Thanks in advance. Sherry

Shampoo and condition your hair (use a good moisturizing conditioner--blowdrying can really dry out your hair). Next, airdry your hair until it`s only slightly damp (blowdrying before this stage is just a lot of work--it doesn`t do anything for your hair, and it`s usually not necessary). To speed up the airdrying process, shake your head upside down and swing it back and forth. It`s probably not great for braincells, but I do it all the time and I`ve got an A average so it can`t be that bad :) . Now you can start on the blowdrying. You should work from the bottom up, so separate the lowest layer and put the rest up in a loose ponytail. With the bottom layer, work in 2-inch sections. Use a round brush, following the path of the brush with your hairdryer, and pull the brush slowly from the roots to the ends. When you have finished this layer, move on to the next layer up. Keep doing this until you`re done.

oh and one more thing--be sure to dry your hair all the way. If it`s even slightly damp it will be frizzy and not completely straight.
