Sophomore Set Shows A Mature Chamillionaire
Grammy Award winning rapper Chamillionaire will release his sophomore album, "Ultimate Victory," in September, and the highly anticipated album is expected to push the creative envelope and present a more mature Chamillionaire.
"I decided I'm going to name this album Ultimate Victory because the real victory is when you really realize what's important. All the stuff that everybody else worries about; all the nonsense, the beef -- I went around the world and they asking retarded questions about this person beefing with this person and this person beefing with that person.
Man, I don't even care. Life is precious," the rapper said about what he feels is the negative state of hip-hop at the moment. The album's first official single, "Hip-Hop Police" featuring Slick Rick, will be released on July 25 on BET's "Access Granted."
The video is a comical and satirical match to the song as Chamillionaire and Slick Rick both play multiple characters. "I was supposed to come with a rec ord, so that's why I said, 'I'ma make this record with Slick Rick [and go against the grain].'"
Speaking less about bling and giving up the "N" word, "Hip-Hop Police" reflects Chamillionaire's new direction as an artist. "We all care about Katrina, we all care about hip-hop and this Don Imus nonsense and all that stuff, but when it comes time to make music ain't nobody saying nothing about that."
