I am reseller of human hair and have been buying from a "little guy" but I am growing much much bigger and am now buying in much larger quantities. Can anyone out there tell me who the largest distributors of human hair extensions and wefts are in the United States??

Hi,

Welcome to the boards.

This is a very good question.  Unfortunately I am still trying to make my way through all the smoke and mirrors to figure these kinds of things out.

I find it is very hard to get information out of most of the hair brokers I talk to.  They will talk about what they sell but not necessarily who they buy their hair from (since of course they don't want me buying from their top suppliers instead of them).    As my niece would say, this is a very sketchy biz.

I had this same situation when I got into hair accessories.  We now carry over 55 different accessory designers (and keep adding more each season) in our HB store but 10 years ago, I had no clue how to find even one of them and no one would tell me anything.  I just kept digging and poking until I found a few designers here and there and then figured out how to get to them one by one.  Now they all find me but it was like pulling teeth those first few years.

In my humble opinion because the hair business (like the hair accessory business) is very competitive, it is hard to get some of the answers as easily as we might all like.  I would just tell you to keep digging.  I apologize I don't have a better answer for you.

Thank you, Karen. I appreciate all your information. I am digging and digging away and think I have found two suppliers, but I am still far off from where I want to be.

Great news.  I am not sure I can help you very much but you are always very welcome to bmail me on this board or email me at shelton@hairboutique.  Best of luck to you.

I would think that Bohyme is one of the largest seller of wefts in the USA.

I forget what the parent company of Bohyme brand is, but you could probably do a google search.
