I`m in my late teens and I have a very important interview coming up in August. I need to look very professional, but I don`t know what to do with my hair. I want a style that is mature, but not too grown up for me. I have a thick head of not quite shoulder length fine hair - It doesn`t curl very well. If you have any suggestions/ideas on what I could do with my hair, I would love to hear them! Thanks so much!!

Have you considered some kind of updo? I think a simple twist looks very professional. Not too severe and it won`t make you look like a librarian. :)

I agree, a updo would be professional without looking `old`. If you are looking for a new style, maybe get a couple inches cut a week before the interview so its right below the chin, just make sure you go to a reputable stylist so your hair doesn`t get butchered.

THE most important thing in a interview is exuding confidence so wear your hair in a style that you are confident in.

Hi! I`ve been reading up on hair styles because I`m bored any some suggestions I`ve run across for looking professional:

*Part your hair on the side, since center-parted hair is more adolescent-looking (I break this rule all the time, but hey that`s what the hair gurus say.)

*Keep your hair around shoulder length. They say if you go for a cut above-the-ears you`ll look signficantly more mature, but I wouldn`t chop your hair off just for a professional image.

Something I do while on the job that looks GREAT (so my coworkers tell me.) I part my hair on the side and gather it back in a sleek ponytail. Then I twist the ponytail into a bun, secure it with pins and wrap a faux hair wrap around the bun once. I got this Scunci thing at Target...it`s a full-looking slightly spikey, slightly curly $2.99 fake hair piece that goes around the bun once. I got it in brown and was lucky enough to have it match my hair. The effect is an instant dressy updo: it looks just like I went to get my hair done because it completely hides the bun. I get way more compliments on that style than when I take the time to wear it down and straight! They still sell them at Target in the hair accessories section. I hope this helps! Good luck at your interview! :-)

A bob is always in style and looks professional without looking "dowdy" I would suggest around chin length or slightly longer.
