Texturizer kits are mild relaxers. Relaxer chemicals are the same ones used to most black girls use in perms to get straight hair, which is deemed most socially acceptable for black girls. I really don't know why people believe if you put a texturizer kit in your hair, you are going to have instant waves. It really doesn't work like that. In this thread, I want people to be HONEST and say if they ever used a texturizer kit and what kind of results they had. I admit I tried it two summers ago at my mom's house over summer in California. What it did for my hair was it made my hair look almost straight, but you could see my waves. And my waves spaced out more. It didnt make any new waves where there werent any before. I expect for a person with straighter hair, even a short amount of time with the texturizer in would just make their hair straight. If somebody can tell me a story of how texturizing gave them perfect waves, Id love to hear it. To me, like any "subculture" (Sorry Im in cultural anthropology this semester lolol..) texturizer kits are just a taboo in our group like witchcraft was.
Used it once back in middle school. My hair was softer, that's about it. The real cool thing about it though was that if my hair got wet it would stay layed down and not stick up.....so if you ever go swimming and wanna have your hair lay down almost perfectly a tex aint half bad

My friend kitted his hair and came out with some deep spaced out waves but when he got a cut they disappeared never to be seen again since he didn't care for waves anymore
if i were to use a kit just as an experiment. after i got my cut would my waves go back to normal. becuz ill do this to give yall some results and feedback but im not risking my wave status though
