i kno this is off topic but i can get more responses here rather than the afrotalk section. ok, so my cousin is having trouble growing his hair and needs some help. so he is wondering how it seems like some people can just up and start growing there hair like E-40 for example. who has dreads in about a year and a half after beginning to grow his hair. also, is it true that putting ur hair into braids actually makes it grow faster. and if u could write some sort of method and EVERYTHING you kno about growing an afro. PLEASE HELP HIM!!

gettin braids does help ya hair grow faster since it pulls on your hair

but the main key is to tell your cousin to get his hair trimmed every 2-3 weeks as he grows it out.. this will help his hair grow faster, also and it will also help prevent split ends

His dreads are pretty short still, but you also have to remember people's hair grows at different rates.

That's if you dont maintain it frequently by moisturizing it ,conditioning etc. Also if u dont trim the ends once in a while.
