Before you start cutting your lining. Get a hot wet rag (as hot as you can stand it). And run it over your hairline. This softens out the hair on the lining so you dont end up struggling to cut it off with the razor(or you'll get a cut on your head struggling plus the lining will look fresher). You dont really have to add alot of pressure for it to do its job.Do the same with the razor as you would with the t-outliner or clipper you use for a lining. But most importantly after your finished dont forget to put alcohol/aftershave on your lining or you'll have razor bumps.Try not to touch your lining to much after finishing(with your hands)maybe until the next day...this could infect the skin.Leading to razor bumps (theres no razor bumps worse than the ones from a straight razor).

Thats all there is to it.As far as styling it's all in the flick of your wrist.

i line my self up w/a straight edge, yea like sum 1 else said, get hot damp towel and put it over ur line or wuteva u cutin, u could also use shavin cream, das wut i use now, but its all about taking da right angle when u bring da blade down cuz it da angles 2 low u aint goin cut nuthin but if u got da razor up high u might need 1st aid, i practiced on da back of my hand and my knuckles wear no 1 would noticed then once i got good i started doin my face, aint cut myself 2 draw blood yet, when u dont use alcohal or aftershave so u dont get bumps

all of that is good advice...make sure u are holdng the razor at a 45 degree angle and only use the tip of the razor...try these steps...

1. hot rag on hairline
2.shaving creame
3.comb hairline...(this shows u where ur hair and skin seperates so u wont push ur self back)
5. shave

maan i been having a issue wit my line as well..i wish i could have it as close as possible to my hairline but my barber never does it that much unless its a real low cut. the thing is my type of hair isn't thick enough to get perfect lineups like yall instead it grows over tha line. i try to mention it to my barber as often as i can but i don't like having to sayn something everytime..wat should i do? actually i've never seen any of da mixed dudes on here post pics of they're hairlines....
when in Doubt..Wolf it out!
