Hey what has helped me fill in my edges is using organic castor oil (can be found at any organic food store) and rubbing a little bit on the scalp every night. HTH :-)
i, too agree with black honey..castor oil is a natural thickener, and aids in hair growth...there are some women on these forums that have really complex homemade growth aids..but the main ingredient in most of them is castor oil..
don't forget to massage the scalp in general to get circulation for circulation. .massaging does not mean using the fingernails..for some reason, my beautician used to do this, and i wondered why my scalp was jacked...
use the balls of you fingers, and circular motion..massaging the scalp should be done at least once or twice a day for about 5 mins. especially in those areas.. you'll be surprised what a little castor oil and tlc will do for you..
and what about your diet? are you drinking plenty of water? exercising, eating fresh fruits vegetables, proteins?
growing hair is a lot of work..but if you're consistent, it's not only about healthy hair, it's all about just plain old healthy habits, as well.
good luck son! and keep us posted! being 16 you are so lucky, and it's great to see young folks asking questions..

I would recommend using Mikal Clay Products to fill in those thin spots. The entire line is used to treat fine, thin, or thinning hair. You should start with the Vitastrand All Natural Hair Vitamin. You would take that everyday. It is a multivitamin that also works with your endocrine system which is your hair, skin, and nails. The product you definitely should use on the line is called Thrust. It is a scalp stimulant. You can use it up to twice a day on those thin spots. The Vitamin and the Thrust work best when used together. I have used the Thrust and my spots are filling in. I have recommended it to so many people. They rave about it. Go to www.mikalclay.com and check it out.
Any of the above is sure to work for you. All it takes is a little patience and consistency on your part. Dont give up, your hair will grow in in no time.
