I would also like some advice . . .  I've had the same long, boring hair for seven years now, after a bad experience growing out bangs.  Now I'm definitely ready for something new.  I don't have time to straighten my hair every day, though, so if anyone knows of good straightening products, and something to keep flyaway frizz down without being crunchy, I'd be glad to get ahold of 'em.

Any ideas about a new cut that would work for my face shape? Not sure if I'm ready to go too short but I just don't know what direction to even look in.

I don't think your hair looks boring at all, I think it looks great, but its of course up to you.   I'd wear it in its natural curl pattern if it were mine.  Don't worry about that face shape thing, the goal of that is just to make everyone look oval (which someone decided was the only right face shape to have), just get what you like.

If you want to keep down frizz, mixing butters with hair oils and using a small amount of that does a great job.  Also minimizing use of silicone conditioners tends to help (anything in the ingredients ending in "cone" or "one").

Jojoba or coconut oil alone do tend to make hair feel crunchy, so if you melt some shea butter or mango butter on the lowest heat setting on the stove and pour in some jojoba till it looks about half and half, they will melt together, then pour in a glass jar and cool. You'll get a mix that is easier to melt with your hands, reduces frizz, and doesn't make your hair feel crunchy.  (Just use a little of it on your ends, like you would if you were oiling your hair, not enough to make it look greasy).

I would try maybe dyeing your hair a dark dark brown and then adding some caramel highlights.. as for the cut, add lots of layers without losing any length. I think that would look amazing on you!! Try using a spray bottle to half soak your hair when its already dry, add a ton of spray leave in conditioner (I like pantene light conditioner detangler) and then scrunch.
