The free stuff is a bit limited as they want you to pay a fee to unlock more styles and whatnot, but it's pretty decent for hair colors and there's a few styles to choose from.

Do what I do. Take a picture from your computer and paste it into Paint. Then copy a picture with the hairstyle you want to try, erase the face, and paste it onto your head. It's completely free, and you can try on any hairstyle in the world.

You can also remove length and bangs, and add any type of hair accessory you want.
