Hello Everyone! I just found this site today and I have a question...About 5 months ago I made a terrible mistake and permed my hair...It was a last resort to change my look without cutting...geeze...I should have gone with the coloring instead! Anyway, I have long, thick, red hair that at one time was quite lovely. Unfortunately I bad idea and 5 months later I now have a head full of damaged red hair. What can I do to improve it? I know I have to wait it out till the perm grows out but can I do anything in the interim to improve the quality of the damaged hair? Thanks for your suggestions!
How about you do a hot oil treatment once or twice every week, also remember to do intensive conditioning, that seemed to helped my hair. I hope this helps.
I did that at one time and had a miraculous recovery. To get the perm out of your hair, go to the drug store, buy a perm kit. Go home and put the perm solution in your hair, then comb it straight through for as long as the minimum time limit. Then put the next step on, wash and condition very well.
I used to really fry my hair with chemical straighteners, then my hairdresser told me about this and it worked perfectly for me. Good Luck.
