help?

This year I will be going to my school`s formal date dance... My mom dosn`t want me to put my hair up because "it looks so great down and fluffed" but I really want to do something different because that`s how it`s been for every formal since 6th grade! I was wondering if anybody has any pictures of formal or semi-formal looks for hair that are preferably half up and not fully up? Please post back! Thanks!
