well actually some do they are just not to your liking.. and then some colors are so dark you can't tell if they have or not.. some vendors do bleach them but their quality isn't great so its not worth it for the knots only... that's why you reallly need to try to learn or send them to someone that will bleach them for you..
I know a lot of CVs use fabric dye, but I found a kit at Sally's called Beyond the Zone On/Off Scalp Bleach kit. It bleached my knots like nobodys business. I basically just mixed a little of the bleach and develper in the bowl that came with the kit so that it was a yougart like consistency and then lightly spread it on the inside of the cap. Be very light handed so that you do not push the bleach through the holes onto the hair and move quickly as well so you dont over bleach the knots. I left it on probably about 10 mins. I then rinsed the bleach off the knots and cap thouroughly. I checked to see if they were my desired color, and they weren't so I bleached them again for about 5 mins, rinsed, washed, conditioned, sealed, and let air dry. That's it, very simple no vasaline is need. I never heard of anyone using vasaline on their cap befor bleaching knots. I have heard of applying a light coating of vasaline or spraying the cap with cooking spray before you color your lf to protect the knots.

Alright! I will try again on my own. The last time, even though I tried to be light handed, they were orange and about a quarter inch into the roots. Oh well, live and learn. I will try again very lightly!

if you try breh's you should be ok you just need to watch it..
The best bleached knots I've ever seen were on a unit I got from http://www.MsLola.com. It's the only time I didn't have to go back and re-bleach after the vendor.

i just got back home from buying this product. the lady at the counter asked me what color i was trying to get. and i told her that i want to lighten my roots from jet black to a brown(she was nosey...dang!) and she told me that i can't do it with this product and that the roots would turn orange. my eyes were like! wtf...she kinda scared me but i'm gonna trust the ladies on the board and just go for it!!!
I mix the bleach with the in the bowl so that it is the consistency of yougart and then apply it to the inside of the cap. Be very careful not to press hard when applying it. You don't want to push the mixture through the holes of the lace onto the hair. I am so light handed that only the bleach mixture touches the cap, and barely the bristles of the application brush. Leave the product on for about 10 mins total. Rinse it off really well and then check it to see your results, if it is not to your liking then bleach them again for like 5 mins. Then rinse the bleach of the inside of the cap thouroughly, wash, condition, and seal. That's it.

You're welcome. The kit comes with 40 developer and a bleach package. I'm not sure what pure white mixture is. You will have to mix the 2 together. You probably will only need about a table spoon if that much. I have bleached the knots on 3 units with that one kit, and I still have enough to bleach probably 3 to 4 more.
I've got to bleach the knots on my unit tonight. I'm going to sally's after work to pick up the kit that Breh used. I'm just totally nervous that I'm going to mess this up.

What do you think you did wrong? Do you think you left it on too long? Please let me know so that I can try to avoid this.

honestly i'm not sure. i didn't press hard into the lace at all. maybe i used to much cuz i'm very heavy handed. so maybe i layed it on to thick. don't fret too much cuz whatever you do someone on here will know how to fix it! go for it! and don't over-worry cuz that's when u mess up. just do it!
