I have just started doin sewin weaves for myself. about maybe 6 months ago. and i really love the way that i do it and my real hair blends in well.  the only hair that i've really bein using is Milky Way. All my friends always talk about how this hair is so good and how much they love it. My first time trying it, it was ok i loved how it felt at least for about three weeks. and after that i hated it. it just doenst seem all that good like its out to be. i guess i've been using it because it's whats there and what works for now. about 2 weeks ago i decided to do another sew-in. i wanted to put my hair up so bad and didnt have much money that i bout the cheapest hair at the hair supply store.2 packs for 24.not the cheapest but the cheapest so called milky way.after a week and a half it just lost its touch and i'm 2 weeks down the line and it sheds bad even when i glued the weft and its tanglely. and i go to work and its like i need to comb it like every 20 minutes. its almost to the point that i just wanna take it out nowAngry. the only thing thats holding it in is that i dont want to waste money even if it was $40.but after lookin at some of these sites i think i'm gonna try the remy hair.Smile

i just wanted some advice.
Like what can i use to keep the tangling down? should i put oil sheen in it(i was told not to with weaves)? is there anything i can do to this hair for at least 2-3 more weeks?
really need some help.i have church in the morning and i dont want to shed all over the place let alone look like a i have a rat on my head.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear your hair is not holding up. That always sucks. The thing about cheap beauty supply hair (especially Milky Way) is that it CAN go to trash very quickly. But, I don't think all BSS hair is bad or even worse than virgin Indian/Chinese hair you can get on-line or elsewhere. It's all in the quality of the product.

Anyway, this is probably too late for you now. If the hair is tangling, I don't think there's anything wrong with hair sheen! It just might help. As will adding some water and blowing it out with hair serum and then finishing with a ceramic iron. You will need heat now to tame that hair.

This is why sometimes it just costs less in the end to buy the good hair right away (save up if you have to) because it's a pain to deal with sh*tty hair!!!Angry

Oh yuk! I hate that!!!
My suggestion would be to use oil sheen or serum and a flat iron and then
just keep it in a braid.

Yeah, this is the truth although I've spent loads of money on what's supposed to be amazing hair and had severe tangling. So glad not to have
to deal with that anymoreBig%20smile

Uh huh! I'm with you there Malibu! Expense doesn't mean great hair! In fact, I buy pretty middle-of-the-road Remy hair, light blonde, and it never have a problem with it. It's when I've ventured out and bought the more expensive hair that I had a problem! I've had great experiences re-using hair that wasn't even Remy!! Plain old wig hair. so, I guess what I said before doesn't hold up. LOL! LOL

If you are srill looking for a suggestion try "Avanti Silicon Mix Conditioner" - dominican product...that is one of the best solutions to BSS hair simply because after a few washed BSS loses the silicon that coats the hair to make look and feel nice and pretty...you can use the shampoo and conditioner but the conditioner is just as great without the shampoo...you should be able to find it at a local BSS and shouldn't cost any more than $8 or $9...

You know...I love Silicon Mix but I question how much MORE silicone it has in it than any other conditioner. Almost any heavy conditioner has silicones in it (many avoid these types of conditioners). It's become a phenomenon for using on wigs and weaving hair, but I'm not sure why when there are LOTS of great conditioners out there for just as cheap!

Hi Preciousnaynay,
I'm curious what kind of sew in you are doing? Do you make cornrows and sew the wefts on to it? I'm always curious when people can make cornrows on the back of their head. I think it's really hard to do. What's your secret???
