QuoteReplyTopic: Tip: Rush and Reality Posted: March 31 2008 at 6:28pm
There has recently been some stress and disappointment about the topic of rush orders here and on BHM, so I thought I'd contribute some tips about rush and reality so that no one gets let down / disappointed by an otherwise quality vendor.
For many of us, the LF underground is our first experience with international trade -- so it's important to know what to expect.
Tip #1: If you must order rush (i.e. for a shotgun wedding) , don't order from a top A-list CV. Leave Jack and Rex alone. Go down your vendor list and order from a B-or-C-list vendor. Look for comments like "Quality was a C-, but he really did finish in 14 days!".
Hint: Vend-u-tantes (new vendors who are soliciting your business via unsolicited bulk email) are a great target for rush orders.
Tip #2: With a CV, rush means "slightly faster". Faster than what? Consult your "Chinese Horoscope" (see below).
Tip #3: Throughout the year, production times ebb and flow vis a vis the Chinese calendar. Post a Chinese calendar in a prominent place on your desktop and consult your "Chinese Horoscope" before placing your order.
Hint: February is the month of the turtle.
Tip #4: Request a "lead time for rush order" from the vendor. If your vendor does not deliver within the lead time s/he has quoted for you, politely request a refund. Your vendor should refund your rush fee with no problem.
HTH!

you are too funny the reality is the more popular the vendor, you need to bypass rush.. b/c of the overwhelming orders it just ain't gonna happened.. if they are a unknown you can probably get rush..
^ EXACTLY what Sexi just said. When it comes to rush, throw some business to the no name guys. Otherwise, nice girls get disappointed, and excellent CVs get a bad rep.

exactly that's why i don't bother with it, i'd rather wait.. i'm not stepping out no more done that, been there and was sadly disappointed so i've got enough i can wait on one that i know i will like..but i don't know those that want to venture out, they might MIGHT get lucky.. altho the no name one's are usually just starting out so their quality could lack a bit...
